BRINDLEYPLACE LOCAL PRODUCE MARKET, a set on Flickr.
The launch of the Birmingham's Brindleyplace 2011 Local Produce Markets took place on Friday 24th June from 10am till 3pm with live music and Brindleyplace Chef Andy Waters of Edmunds demonstrating creative ways in which to cook fresh items purchased at the market. Not to be confused with a ‘Farmers Market’ the markets held in Central Square at Brindleyplace on the last Friday of each month specifically support and encourage local producers to sell their seasonal goods.
The markets at Brindleyplace attracted a wide range of local producers providing a fantastic choice of food and drink from fresh fruit and vegetables to delicious cakes and pastries.
Visitors to the Local Produce Market chatted with stall holders about their fresh produce to reignite and inspire new ideas. This year some of the Brindleyplace restaurants will provide recipes for the produce being sold to make it even easier to enjoy locally sourced ingredients. Why not bring along your own recipe to future Local Produce Markets for a chance and have it published on Brindleyplace Facebook page? Please contact Ailsa Raine Marketing Executive by email ailsa.raine@brindleyplace.com
If you would like to sell your own produce at the Brindleyplace markets, please contact Russell Dean Market Operator Sketts by emailing russell.dean@sketts.co.uk
The market will be held between 10am-3pm on the last Friday of every month through to September at Brindleyplace’s Central Square.
